Kudzu ( Pueraria lobata ) , a.k.a. spotted vine or resistance bush, is a deciduous vine found in coastal areas, fields and roadsides. Kudzu is related to the pea and comes from the Pacific Islands and East Asia. It entangles trees, bushes, lanterns and poles, reaching up to 12 meters in height. The raw material used in herbal medicine are pods and roots. It is often considered an invasive vine or even a weed because it aggressively colonizes its range, weakening other plants by shading them.
