Black cumin (Nigella sativa)  is commonly known as Egyptian black cumin. Black cumin oil obtained from its seeds by cold pressing, has a taste and smell characteristic of the seeds.
In addition, black cumin oil is characterized by a high content of unsaturated fats, including polyunsaturated fats, which include omega-6 fatty acids. A fatty acid from the omega-6 family is linoleic acid (LA), which helps maintain proper cholesterol levels in the blood. The beneficial effect occurs when consuming 10 g of LA per day.
