L-carnitine performs a transport function towards long-chain fatty acids, which are transferred to the mitochondria, where they undergo transformations, as a result of which the energy necessary for the proper functioning of the body's cells is generated.
L-carnitine participates in lipid metabolism, has the ability to lower cholesterol, transports long-chain fatty acids to the mitochondria, and affects the activity of hormones, especially testosterone and thyroid hotmon. It intensifies the processes of burning fatty acids, which inhibits the growth of adipose tissue and prevents obesity.
