Tabebuia avellanedae is an evergreen, tropical tree up to 30 metres high, growing in the mountains of South and Central America (up to an altitude of 1500 m) with spherical pink inflorescences. Pau d'Arco (Tabebuia avellanedae) is also known by the names Lapacho (Argentina, Paraguay) and Ipe Roxo, Morado (Brazil).
